My hobbies are reading, traveling and scrapbooking. 

I enjoy making memories with my granddaughter, Reagen.

I came to Drew Central from Selma School in 1980. I started teaching 6th grade  Chapter Reading and moved to Kindergarten and then to First Grade. I  Have been the Library Media Specialist for K-6 since 1998.  This is my 30th year in education.

Educational Background:  Monticello High School   74’Central Baptist College, Conway 74’ University of Arkansas at Monticello 75-78 (BS-Education) UCA, Conway 98-00 Master’s Library Science       
 Job Descriptions:  Library Media Specialist K-6 and Professional Librarian.  I teach classes in Library skills in K-6.  I promote the Accelerated Reading program and having students read for pleasure is my goal.  I also help students and teachers find information. 

Organizations:   Sunshine Committee Chairperson; SEARK Reading Council; International Reading Association; Arkansas Reading Association; Member of Faith Missionary Baptist Church; and Arkansas Education Association .

I have enjoyed music all my life. As a kindergartener, I began playing the piano and continued lessons through the 10th grade. During high school, I took voice lessons and used both of my talents in church. It was just natural to major in music education and pursue a career teaching what I love most-MUSIC!

Education Background: Bachelor of Arts/Music Ed.-UAM

Job Descriptions: I teach elementary music. (K-6) I also teach sixth grade elementary choir which is selected by audition.

 Gifted and Talented

 I attended Drew Central as an elementary student, with my mother as my first-grade teacher in the Red Brick building.  Now I have come full circle, and my gifted and talented classroom is right across the hall from where I began my formal education.  My hobbies include reading, music, cooking, painting, drawing, and babysitting Emma, my granddaughter.  

Educational Background:  BSE Secondary English and Math-Arkansas A.M. College. ME in Gifted Education-ULAR. Presently working on doctorate in Faculty Development, with a cognate area of Gifted, at UALR.   

Job Descriptions:  I serve as the curriculum coordinator and gifted and talented coordinator, K-12.  I also write grants for Drew Central.  I teach Fourth, Fifth, and Sixth Grade Gifted and Talented pullout classes.

Educational Background- Graduate of Drew Central Schools. Graduate of UAM in Secondary Health and Physical Education and Elementary Physical Education with twenty seven years experience 

Job Descriptions:  I teach elementary physical education and any other duties assigned by the principals.

 

 

 Mrs. Stephanie Jackson
D.I. Coordinator/Title I Reading

I became part of the Drew Central School in 1983.  I was hired as the Migrant Education Teacher for three years.  I taught Second Grade for Fifteen years. I loved teaching Second Grade.  I am now the Direct Instruction Coordinator and Title I Reading teacher. I like to shop, eat out, work in my yard, and walk.  

Educational Background-Attended Portland School through Ninth Grade. Graduated from Montrose Academy in 1976. Graduated from U.A.M. in 1980 with a B.A. in Elementary Education. Received a Masters Degree from the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville in Elementary Education 

Job Descriptions:  My job duties are observing teachers teaching D.I. Reading and making sure they have all the materials needed to teach and I also help the new students to be placed in groups.  My job as Title I Reading teacher is to pull students from Second through Fourth Grade and teach them skills and strategists to make them better readers.
